AS WE CELEBRATED LABOR DAY THIS YEAR, WE AGAIN RECOGNIZED THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE GREAT TRAGEDY OF SEPTEMBER 11, 2001; A TERRORIST ATTACK ON THE UNITED STATES, WHICH KILLED THOUSANDS OF INNOCENT PEOPLE. WE ESTABLISHED AN EXHIBIT IN MEMORY OF THOSE WHO DIED AND THOSE WHO CONTINUE TO SUFFER FROM THEIR WOUNDS. IN ADDITION, AN ORIGINAL FLAG, REPLACED WHEN IT WAS TORN, TATTERED AND COVERED WITH DEBRIS, WAS ON SPECIAL DISPLAY IN OUR MUSEUM FOR THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER.

ABRAHAM LINCOLN HAD A FAVORITE PEN KNIFE. HE USED IT OFTEN AS A TOOL ON THE FRONTIER AND IN THE WHITE HOUSE. A FAMOUS PHOTOGRAPH DEPICTS LINCOLN AT HIS OFFICE DESK, WITH AN APPLE IN ONE HAND AND WITH HIS PEN KNIFE READY TO SLICE IT.
A GOOD, RELIABLE KNIFE WAS NECESSARY ON THE FRONTIER. FARMERS, SPORTSMEN AND PEOPLE GO ABOUT THEIR DAILY CHORES WHERE A DEPENDABLE KNIFE IS NECESSARY.
IN KEEPING WITH THE SPIRIT OF AMERICA AND WITH PRIDE IN OUR AMERICAN CRAFTSMANSHIP, THE MUSEUM HAS ADDED AN INFORMATIVE DISPLAY SHOWING HOW KNIVES ARE MADE.
THE MUSEUM SHOP AND GIFT STORE HAS RECENTLY BECOME AN OFFICIAL BUCK KNIFE DEALER AND OFFERS THESE U.S. MADE KNIVES WITH THEIR FOREVER WARRANTY FOR SALE.
