For the enjoyment of all visitors, please consider the following:
· Have an accurate head count before you reach the admission desk. We will need the count to be broken down by the number of students or seniors and the number of adults including group leaders, teachers and chaperones.
· Five museum programs accommodate for the rotation of groups of ten to fifteen individuals at a time. Please arrange smaller groups prior to arrival. Groups of up to fifty should plan to allow a minimum of one hour to fully enjoy the museum program.
· Group reservations do not require a deposit.
· Groups that book outside regular business hours who fail to show or give less than a 24 hour notice will be invoiced for the total reserved.
· We understand travel problems can occur, please contact the museum if you will be arriving more than fifteen minutes early or fifteen minutes late so that we will be able to accommodate for your arrival.
· Payment can be made by cash, check, or credit card.
· We are happy to allow photos to be taken in museum. We do not allow video of our recorded programs but you are welcome to video the trains and features of our interactive layout. If anyone wishes to be photographed with Lincoln in our Hallway of American History, in consideration of your group members, please wait until you have completed viewing the tour programs and return to the Hallway of American History for your photo/selfie with Lincoln.
· No food or drinks are allowed in our museum.
· Please gather your group outside prior to your tour while a chaperone registers your group at the ticket counter. Groups are welcome to enjoy the displays in our bobber caboose as well as Lincoln's journey to Gettysburg displayed in front of the train outside the museum.
· We require a minimum of one adult chaperone for every 10 students. Chaperones must be at least 18 years of age, and must stay with/supervise their assigned children during the visit.
· Please recognize that your group may be touring the museum while other guests are enjoying our programs. Please silence your cell phones and keep the volume of your interactions among one another at a respectable level in the museum as a courtesy to all guests touring our attraction.
· Our Station Master's gift shop sells swords, cap guns, and pocket knives. If you do not wish for these items to be sold to your students, please tell them in advance and notify our cashier at check-in of your restrictions. Replica swords and pocket knives require an adult chaperone’s permission at the time of purchase or a scout with a Totin Chip badge.
· We love animals and do welcome all service dogs to our museum but ask that others make accommodations for four legged friends while you plan to visit our attraction. Our funeral train ride does simulate the motion of a train and tends to make some dogs nervous.
We reserve the right to dismiss any group or individual who does not behave in an appropriate manner!
